As a child I was introduced to all kinds of music from my mother and family. I grew up listening to everything from Michael Jackson to U2. From middle school on I really only listened to gangster rap and R&B. I was introduced to underground electronic music as a sophomore in high school when my friend peter came back from summer vacation with a jungle CD from Germany. After that I had a thirst that could not be quenched. I quickly moved on to what is my one true love HOUSE MUSIC and TECHNO. I soon found The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Moby, Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, The Crystal Method, and Fatboy Slim. I grew up in Bisbee Arizona which is about 150 miles away from Tucson so there really was not any connection with the underground. This would soon change on my vacation to the U.K when i graduated from high school in May of 1999. In England I found out about "raves" and trance music. All summer I lisened to nothing but Nalin and Kane, System F, and the Bucketheads. When I came back from the U.K. I was determined to go to my first rave. I moved to Tucson in Aug of 99 for college and went to my first rave "translucent" where I had life changing experience. I was in total awe of the DJ and what he was doing. From that point on I knew that is what I wanted to do. I wanted to make people dance and experience music the way I did that night. I quickly found other like minded people in the underground scene and formed a collective known as Surreal Entertainment and started throwing our own raves in Tucson. From Aug 2000 to 2006 we put on some of the largest raves southern Arizona had seen. My mother bought me my first set of turntables for Christmas in Dec 99. It was a dj in a box kit from Gemini. Even though these tables were near impossible to mix on it didn't stop me from starting a record collection and meeting other dj's in the Tucson area. My girlfriend at the time bought me my first pair of Technics 1200's for Christmas the next year and it was like a whole new world was opened up to me. I quickly started playing local underground parties and raves. My skills landed me a job at the local record store Sound Factory which was later renamed Sounds Fresh. The guys at the store took me under their wing and helped me hone my craft. The Owner Alex Ruiz aka DJ hem helped me fine tune my ear to the funky house sound he had gained famed for in the southwest. Seth Myles a legend in the Tucson scene showed me how to program and turn my dj sets into a story. My love for house music knows no bounds. I love to rock parties and make people dance.
