About

Born in Somerset, England in the late 80’s, DJ Hoddz (Ben Hodder) is a bedroom DJ with a passion for all things hard dance! As an avid music lover, Hoddz started small and used to play out club classics back in 2005 on various online pirate radio sites, but in November 2006 things changed.

Ben was approached by a good friend of his (Jon H), and shown the flyer for HTID In The Sun 2007. He loved the harder sounds, and underground music was always going round in his head, so they decided they would get it booked and jet off to Spain the next year. As soon as he entered the club, the bassline hit his chest and he felt alive, but he didn't just want to be this side of the stage.

Hoddz continued to run his radio shows, but slowly aired more underground tracks. Whilst he was playing the music, he was listening to the melody, basslines and vocals to pick apart the track and venture deeper into how it was all put together. This, of course, helped him blend every track into the next and keep it sounding sharp.

This was all well and good, but bearing in mind this was all done using computer software, it wasn't very hands on. Things had to change, so in April 2008 he went out and purchased his first set of CDJs and a mixer. Sure, it wasn't anything fancy but it would do for the time being, helping him to get a 'feel' for the music more than you could every get from a mouse and keyboard.
