         Without a doubt, in all of my 15+ years of electronic music experience, this is my all time favorite mix. I don't mean my favorite of Hipnotic Starr's sizable discography; I consider this to be the best DJ mix that I've ever heard in my life. From the first time I listened to it, I could completely envision the entire story of this mix, from rising through the depths into the edge of a foggy storm to the triumphant return of the sun. I have listened to this mix thousands of times, and it makes me cry every time I listen to it. My favorite mix from my favorite DJ. It just doesn't get any better than this.

        There is nothing more magical than the bond between a father and a daughter and this mix captures that energy perfectly. Hipnotic Starr made this mix for his daughter Adora's 4th birthday. She programmed this set, choosing all of the records and the order in which they were played. There's no denying her musical talent, even from such an early age. Hipnotic Starr's complete understanding of melodic and harmonic structures and patterns shines through as the listener is taken on a beautiful voyage through a lush melodic soundscape. The mix crescendos with the haunting and unforgettable Someone Like You by Black and Jones. I have been soothed to sleep by this set on many occasions and it will always remain close at hand for those times that I need to feel some love.

        This mix gets me every time. There is absolutely nothing more invigorating when starting a long road trip than hearing the first few bleeps as Cry Little Sister starts up. That track, one of the most epic tracks ever created, in my opinion, sets the tone and the pace of the mix: non-stop drive and energy. You can't possibly feel bad when you listen to this mix. It certainly has gotten me through more bad times than I even care to count.

        When I first received my copy of this mix back in 2005, my copy said, "Hip Starr Goa Mix Master" on it. I didn't actually find out the name of the mix until 2007. Nevertheless, the cd stayed in my cd changer for 8 months solid. I know this mix inside and out, and it still remains one of my all time favorite mixes.
