Italian based DJ Producer Giangi Cappai, a self declared citizen of the world, best know as alter-ego “Alma Matris”, the embodiment of the darkest tribal vibe in the musical circuit. Under this pseudonym in 1997 he composed the Italian top 10 charting single “Musica Electrica/Rumore Chimico”. Later, the hit song was reissued on the NY-based label *69 records, and this gave more energy to the single, projecting Giangi among the tribal heavyweights of the world.
The Follow-Up single titled “Rapido”, confirming his passion for Latin spoken vocals and for banging tribal beats and percussions, In its first week topped the world charts and conquered even the fiercest dancefloors, being played by some of the best DJs all over the world.
Hottest club compilations and fiercest dj sets world wide are full of Giangi’s most famous tribal dark grooves, (try to find the super robbed “Alma Matris Tribe Tool” e.p.) and his remix portfolio includes names like: MADONNA, AFRIKA BAMBAATAA, OFFER NISSIM, DONNA BLAKELY, XAVIERA GOLD, SHAUNA SOLOMON, CEEVOX, LULA, ANDREA CARNELL,and his touch is also behind the exclusive remix of MADONNA “Easy Ride”.
Some of latest Giangi works are the huge collaboration with the singer INAYA DAY, “Rapid Fire”, on KULT records, the 4 hands project with RALPHI ROSARIO “Bring Your Soul Back” on Iberican Records, LULA “Fire and Burn” and “Last Night a Dj Saved my Live” remixes and the latin spoken “LAGRIMA”, on KULT Records, in the vein of ALMA MATRIS style.You can find him spinning regularly at the infamous International Circuit Party “RAPIDO” in AMSTERDAM, and as guest in world wide big events like ALEGRIA NEW YORK, and CIRCUIT FESTIVAL BARCELONA, GAY VILLAGE ROME, just to name a few.
