DJ DonovanD3 was blessed to start spinning records professionally in 1986 while a college student at the University Of Wisconsin - Madison at the New Bar. The New Bar was a video club that played videos and records so Donovan had the difficult task of blending between music videos with no pitch control and vinyl while working a full dance floor on the weekends. In 1989 Donovan moved to Chicago where he began a one year residency at The Rage during which time he was the opening dj for a Grace jones show. In 1990 Donovan began a ten year residency in Chicago at Roscoes Bar & Nightclub. During that period Donovan maintained residencies at Crobar, Kaboom, Shelter, Lucky's, Eon's, Station and guest spots at Cairo and The Pyramid Room. In 2002 Donovan moved to Fort Lauderdale where he did guest spots at Club Boi in Miami and continued to do guest spots in Chicago at Green Dolphin. In 2007 Donovan and his two Chicago partners formed an underground collective called the Araguaca Tribe focusing on soulful house music parties. They began doing Paradise Soul, a monthly party featuring soulful house music and classics. Paradise Soul takes place the last Sunday of every month in Chicago and features uplifting house music, funky videos and decor, live art and an eclectic crowd.
