Born in Middlesex London, Brought up near Brighton, my first proper experience was at 15 when I went to Jean Michel Jarre at Docklands88 London, I was laser addicted, straight away. I had seen Depeche mode at wembley and Erasure in Brighton and put into perspective all the Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode/Erasure Vincent Clarke yazoo days that I had in my head.
Sterns/Interdance/Purple Haze/Empire/Twighlight Zone/House on the hill however you relate to it was my Local, with Empire going to Bognor so did I, I started going there when it was a discoteque and to mention of course for Worthing the Carioca, which in my memory heard testone for the first time and had to buy it, Sunrise, Biology, Energy in 88 I had missed out on so had to make up for it, that was it, bedroom was just a mixing Den. wallpaper was flyers. great bunch of friends and music was everything, work in the week, raved at the weekend, that was life, LFO shook the house and I was hooked, and was named DJ Corgi. never made it big but DJ's wanted to borrow my records, it was a pleasure as DJ Haze is my Legend and best DJ I have known, big shout Kev, truth is I couldnt mix, technology seems to of enabled me to at least half get some sort of mixing going on so trying things out for start?.
I wanted it large scale so was following all the Dance 90-91 around the south and going to the Slough Centre were crazy days.
So with the birth of my era I had all this electronic house music and loved it so much I had to spend most of my wages on records, I started at MI-PRICE (Carl Cox and Luke Slater ran this, I found it ammusing as they were taking the mick out of our price then Jelly Jam, which a good friend from school worked in.
My collection kept growing by ending up mail ordering records from Streatham Records, travelling to MASH in Oxford street and Blu Bird was expensive in itself.
Then stopped altogether in 93, (got fed up as didnt like jungle or drum and bass, could not relate to it although I am sure the detroit Techno would continue to be a very underground scene) to start a family and have been concentrating on them for the past 20 years, so just on here to share some of my memories of my youth.
Love and peace and Music
