Hi I'm Dj Contort, in the city of Plymouth I ran events such as Dimensional Schizm, Cybernetic, Spectrum of Sound, Teleport, The Badgers Ball & Control Techno.
I can't be tied down to any particular genre, the stuff on here is what i've done recently however i've a lot of other stuff elsewhere on the net. I grew up spinnin on my head and doinG windmills to old electro hip hop then started scratching miami booty bass records, so hip hop culture has played a big part in stuff .
I started to make little pause n record mixtapes with a tape machine i nicked from school , it had a speed dial... i looped the beat off straight out of compton, yeh thats right i pretty much created jungle on my own in my bedroom and had no idea of the future significance! true story that! Also i used to mix and paste skits off hip hop albums in a cassette boy style for my own humorous purposes lol
anyhow then we get to '98 & i'd been taking taking muchos mushrooms (as I lived on dartmoor) one night i was pretty much coming down but i had this music playing thru my head  that my brain was generating (not like a musical headache of the last thing i heard but my brain was actually generating it!)
now i thought "i've got two choices here i can either try and go to sleep or stay awake and listen to this incredible music, maybe have a little dance (it was basically idm in the style of aphex twin's furious uptempo glitchy stuff!) and that is what i did, the next day i decided i had to learn how to write electronic music so i set about playing with stuff, i moved through most genres (of the time) trance,hardhouse,garage,trip hop hardcore.
pretty soon after that i realised gabber was my calling then went on a mission to be as extreme as possible! after prolonged drug use and sleep deprivation and the ensuing madness i now make glitchy distorted breakcore gabber mashups but recently tried my hand again at psytrance.
