BBC Radio 1xtra every other Wednesday 9-10pm

London based DJ, Barely Legal, has fast become a familiar face at the heart of the UK bass scene. Her distinctive, effortless style focuses heavily on Grime and Garage blending original UK classics with current, forward thinking bass, showing assured support to the latest artists emerging in the scene.

Her undeniable talent and hunger has not gone unnoticed, after submitting one of Radio 1xtra’s favourite ‘1500 seconds of fame’ guest mixes, Barely Legal has quickly been snapped up for a bi-weekly slot on MistaJam’s Radio 1xtra show. With a ‘daily dose mix’ residency firmly in place, alongside the likes of Flosstradamus, Rudimental, Eats Everything, Modestep, Chestplate Records and Drumsound & Bassline, Barely Legal is fast becoming a sought after talent in the UK.

When not tearing up the airwaves, Barely Legal is busy getting dance-floors moving across the UK and Europe with her energetic and nostalgic sets. Armed with an exclusive selection of Grime and Garage, 2012 saw Barely Legal playing alongside David Rodigan, Dillinja and Shy FX in the main room at Fabric as well as at Outlook in Croatia. Her inimitable style is receiving heavy support from established artists across the UK, recently contacted by the notorious Wiley, who has studio vocalled her latest 1xtra guestmix along side Riko Dan, Scratchy and Godsgift, whilst further wanting to show support through inviting her to perform on his 2013 tour.

As she continues to establish herself as a pioneering DJ and broadcaster, her inevitable entrance into the realms of music production have already begun with promising rumours of projects with the likes of Silkie and Chimpo. Barely Legal will certainly play a role in shaping UK Bass in the years to come.
