About
Alexandra purchased her first turntables at 13, much to her parents dislike. They were making her study classical piano, which she does actually enjoy.
Alexandra spent her formative years performing and promoting in Sydney's Underground scene.
She was involved in radio shows on 2SER, Bondi FM and JJJ's The Club
She has promoted and performed at venues and parties including The Phoenix, The Oxford Hotel, Ruby Rabbit, The Newtown, The Sly Fox, The Oxford Arts Factory, The Colombian, Mars Lounge, Club 77, Bad Dog, Loose Ends, Kooky, and The Surry Hills Festival. She also accidentally ended up as support DJ for Spank Rock at the after party for the Sydney Festival.
In 2007 she produced the Women's space at The New Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras party. She performed at the party in both 2007 and 2008.
She beat a league of men to win the Kinselas Dj competition in 2007 and placed in the Top 75 female DJ's in Aus/NZ in the EMI She Can DJ competition 2011.
Alexandra relocated to Melbourne in 2009. She promoted Sunday Best in 2009/10 at the Victoria Hotel and Wear it Out in 2011.
She holds a monthly residency at Werk at Workshop.
Her sound is a unique fusion of house, tech, techno and electro that she likes to call Ghettotech.
She performs with a traditional vinyl format on two 1200's with a mixer and midi controllers and the digital interfaces of Serato Scratch and Ableton Live.
Every mix on this page is a single take without editing.. call it live, call it real, call it music to dance to.
