Dimonte’s urban roots and spice for alternative sounds lead her to become an avid listener of London’s house and garage underground pirate radio stations Rise FM and Pulse FM during the late 1990s. Gaining a thirst for the underground vibe inspired the purchase of turn tables at the age of 18. Opting to spend most weeks scouting vinyl’s shops in and around London during her late teens and early twenties infused her flavour for underground bass heavy and soulful tracks.
Playing on and off as a bedroom DJ for over 15 years, Dimonté turned a corner in 2010, deciding to step-up and push the boundaries of her underground music passion. After being mentored by Northern DJ’s Scratch Eddie and DJ Melodie, Dimonte was able to enhance her skill-set, giving her the confidence to perform for larger crowds.
Solid on the bass, Dimonte’s salutary sounds and big ass beats are heavily influenced by past and present UK & US garage, deep and soulful house genera’s. In addition, gaining inspiration from the diversity of the Sheffield underground house scene, along with being wowed and educated by Northern house legends such as Chris Duckenfield, Danny Wootton and Mike O’Mara, but also US DJ’s such as Kenny Dope, Miguel Migs and Dennis Ferrier; all of which encouraged her to create a sound that spreads across all spectrums of house.
