About
What started as somewhat of a hobby borne out of a mid-life anxiety, has actually turned out to be quite a successful venture into a field I never would have really imagined myself in. I've always been into music, having taken piano lessons throughout my childhood, but it wasn't until about 2004 (after I hit the big "3-Oh") that I realized I hadn't been fruitful musically in my life. I decided that I would get into music sequencing and composition and within a year had stumbled, quite accidentally, into a genre that would forever change my interests, opinions and outlooks on life - TRANCE MUSIC. As a boy, I listened to what any other boy my age was listening to, but venturing into computerized recording and music production as an adult lead me to a place where I could appreciate something more than just what Billboard Magazine and Joe Public was recommending. The scene itself is somewhat like an underground movement; a musical secret society that is larger than any outsider could imagine. A culture that actually exists, in a sense, due to it's minority status among the more popular genres like Hip Hop, Rock, and Alternative music. Electronic music derives some of it's 'uniqueness' from this status. If it was popular among a majority of listeners, or if the Top 10 Billboard charters were routinely electronic tracks, I'm sure the scene would lose something in the end. People in this scene like to be different.
There is an extensive network of producers like myself on the internet. Many peers continued to raise the bar in their productions forcing me to learn better techniques and more effective ways of recording. Many are in my friends list and I am indebted to no small number of them. In 2007 & 2008, and since the release of my independent album, I acquired the attention of a few music labels and finally had some of my music signed and distributed. I am grateful to the numerous people who continue to encourage me and support my work.
