Producer // DJ // Controllerist

DFENDR is Ian Michael of Southwest Michigan. He brings his passion for music production, often deep, expressive, and soulful, to his live performance sets, creating impressive and energetic blends of soulful vocals, swinging drum beats and swelling pads in his own, unique styles of deep house and future garage.

His first EP, "ThunderSnow," was released in early 2012. A collection of deep moombahton tunes inspired by a long, cold michigan winter, the album is available for free.

On October 9th, 2012 the "Capture EP" was released through the label CK Division. The EP is three space-age spongs full of choppy, hypnotic vocals, grooving basslinse and swinging percussion. It is available through iTunes and Beatport.

He has shared the stage with many great local names, including DukTap, Ty Beats, Pastel Arsenal, ∆irjob, Land of Eph, Gami PohnJaul, BfeelZ and others. His music has been featured on several music blogs, by the likes of DredCollective and Head Nod Collective.

Ian had continued plans for future releases and collaborations soon. Working with local and international producers alike, Ian prepares to release even more impressive sounds in the coming months.
