I've been enjoying Jamie xx's mixes recently and this was my stab at doing something in a similar
vein - kind of 'dry' psychadelia rather than wet and reverb-y - dry like the taste of cranberry juice, or the smell of fresh wood shavings or tea tree oil (if you catch my drift). When it was finally done I noticed that each track was very much in contrast sonically to the tune that followed it, which retrospectively seems like a good idea that I wish I'd actually had on purpose. This mix also became the giftoid that I gave away to all and sundry at Burning Man 2011 and I kind of wanted something that would fit in naturally with the place (as I pictured it to be in advance) but also still feel quite British and pale-skinned amidst the luxuriantly bronzed Burners. Welcome home!, by the way...
