About
Between 1995 and 2011 Swedish Radio Ltd host Calle Dernulf spread electronic dancemusic across Scandinavia in different forms. His mission has been to give you an exclusive view into the world of club and dancemusic.
Throughout the years Calle has interviewed artists, Dj’s and producers who all have been a part of changing or evolving the dance music scene.
Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Larry Heard to Tiesto, Sasha, John Digweed, Francois Kevorkian, Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, Frankie Knuckles, Carl Craig. Gui Boratto, Aphex Twin, DJ Hell, Radioslave, Autechre and a few hundreds more have all come across Calles microphone.
No one else has come closer to the heart of the Swedish dance music scene than Calle, a scene where when P3 Dans, his trademark show, started only consisted of a few talented house- and technoproducers. Today Sweden is full of acknowledged producers and DJ’s eager to experiment and surprise the audience.
P3 Dans was the show that brought Scandinavia the first glimpse of swedish talents. Producers and DJ's who now conquer the world, for instancene: Adam Beyer, Cari Lekebusch, Eric Prydz, Axwell, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Jesper & John Dahlbäck, Joel Mull and Zoo Brazil to mention a few. All of these names were regular guests on the show and soon became household names on the emerging swedish clubscene.
For ten years Calle also hosted the popular Saturday mixshow P3 Klubb that showcased mixes and djsets from the top dj’s of the world. The P3 Klubb show was cohosted together Germund Stenhag and Axwell.
Calle Dernulf has commited his whole life to broadcasting and searching for new music. It all started with the local radio station MRS in Stockholm with funk, disco, synth and electro in a fusion that reflected the sounds of the early eighties.
With P3 Dans on Swedish Radio Ltd, the nationwide public service broadcaster, he found the home closest to his heart, an electronic music show with groove!
Calle has also compiled the collections “En linje house” and “En linje techno”. With these records he introduced music that he wanted to reach a wider audience. Most of the tracks had only been availible on small vinyl editions and white labels.
