Derek has been cultivating a fascination with music since childhood beginning at age 4 when he climbed up and sat at a piano for the first time. While other kids were outside setting cars on fire, Derek was at the keys honing his craft. "My parents couldn't believe it, I wouldn't stop playing, not for lunch, not for dinner." Derek was classically trained in music composition and jazz piano performance in his hometown of Miami, a town that is well versed in the hedonism of dance music.

Derek has traveled to several countries to play groundbreaking headline sets and share the lineup with some of the biggest names in the industry including: Hernan Cattaneo, James Zabiela, Ferry Corsten, Chus & Ceballos, Christian Smith, Max Graham, Paco Osuna, Satoshi Tommie, Junkie XL, Hector Romero, DJ Icey, The Scumfrog, Serge Devant, Alex Pearce and The Low End Specialists.

With a relentless approach to discovering new music, he is an integral part of "The New Sound of New York." Performing at venues throughout the city, he has an amazing connection with the crowd and a ferocious energy on the stage during his DJ sets. Incorporating many different styles, his musical ability is endless.
