Music has always been a part of Derek Andrew’s life. By the end of high school, he not only was lead bass in chorus, but played the clarinet, saxophone, sousaphone, trumpet, trombone, and piano for band. By no means a master of any, it did give him a solid foundation in music theory, as well as bred a taste of music so broad that it is easier to say what music he doesn’t like.

In the late nineties, Derek would have his previous experience to electronic music (Industrial/Goth) overridden after attending his first “massive”. Having no idea how nuanced electronic music could be prior to this, he was quickly enamored. It would be only a few more years before he too would begin to try DJing. Later, Derek became known for dancing to a great DJ, just as much as he’s known for dropping flawless house and breaks sets throughout the West Coast from San Diego to Seattle to Chicago and back again.

Derek’s Djing brings a plurality of beats that'll keep that ass moving all night, whether you like it or not. Influenced heavily by the BodyRock DJs, Mark Farina, Elite Force, Fort Knox Five, and Kraak & Smaak, he has harbored a sound that can only be translated as super funky, deep, and chunky, soulfully progressive, electro breaks and house.

Recently trying a hand a production, this is a collection of his tracks created over the last couple of years at his home studio. It is here where the wealth of his music knowledge and the breadth of his taste can really be seen.

All tracks (while not professionally mastered by any means) can be made available for use, just send a private message :)
