About

“Jazz at its core is improvisation, and
can be especially free and sexy if you
don’t have reservations upon mixing it
with powerful beats.” This philosophy is
evident from the moment this venezuelan
dj and producer kicks off a party with
his groovy sessions.
Boogaloo, afrobeat, acid-jazz, house, Breakbeat, salsa, hip-hop, flamenco, funk, drum n´bass or latinotronic are some of the ingredients that flavor his jazzy sessions.
Demetrio from CCS has shared the turntables with some of the world´s best djs, like Armand Van Helden, Hernan Cattaneo, Roy Davis Jr, Junkie XL, Dany Howells, Terry Francis, G Moore, Judge Jules. In addition, his own original tracks can be found on various compilation discs, like “Venezuela Dance vol. 1”(Gozadera Records), “Banti. Tarifa Summer Sessions (Banti records), “360 Noches” (Altamira Suites), “Soundial Loft[esque] Compilation” (Soundial Records), and a remix in “Nueva Onda Nueva, Electronic Aldemaro”
(FNB Grabaciones).
On a journey to find the open ear, Demetrio from Ccs lived in Europe for many years. In August, 2006, he brought his “latinotronic” beats to an audience of 6000 fans in Amsterdam’s Heineken Music Hall, invited by Belgian-Spanish artist Belle Perez. While living in Spain, he supplied the electronic beats for the Spanish band, “El Sombrero del Abuelo”, collaborating in their disc, “Sistole y Diastole”, and touring with them for two years throughout Spain and Europe. when he wasn’t touring with the band, he could be found spinning in the best of Madrid’s clubs like La Boca de Lobo.
Before, while still in Venezuela, he influenced the movement of electronic music as part owner and resident dj of nightclubs such as Barrabar and Santaladiabla, both of which were looked upon as the references in
Caracas for electronic music. He was also invited to dj in other south American countries and his remixes have been danced to in La Sala in Bogota, Colombia and the international music festival in Lima-Peru.
Demetrio from CCS recently released his first original cd, “Bar Domestico a Domicilio”, in iTunes and Amazon.com with the support of José Luis Pardo, a.k.a. Dj Afro (Los Amigos Invisibles guitarist).
“Bar Domestico a Domicilio” is 11 tracks to experience an electronic journey to the domestic bar that
we all want to have.
He is currently settling in Milwaukee and looking forward to exposing new ears to his unique mixes and sessions of latin funk.
