For just under a decade Dallas,TX native Demarkus Lewis has released over 100 singles and remixes . He has kept true to his roots in the underground sound whether it be deep soulful house or the heaviest of techno/tech-house outings. Known for his ability to go deep while maintaining the energy to keep the dance floors moving, he has proven to be diverse artist.

It all began in the summer months of 1990 when he was first introduced to dance music. Soon Demarkus began learning to DJ by blending everything he could get his hands on from Front 242 to 808 State to The Cure and even the more popular rap acts of the era like Chubb Rock and Special ED. From the beginning it had always seemed to be his passion to create different moods with sound. During the first few years he met Brett Johnson. The two created a peer support system that to this day still remains strong.

The year 2000 marks Demarkus signing his first record deal with Swerve Records. At that time, he also had become the head House Music buyer at Dallas DJ Music store Core Records.
Since then, his name has appeared on several labels such as End Recordings, Slip n Slide, Low Down, Siesta Music, Large Music, Shack Recordings, Black Vinyl, Kapa Music, Nightshift Records, Brique Rouge, Robsoul, and Conya Records just to name a few. His music has also been featured on several dance music compilations including Seamless Recordings' Bargrooves series, DJ Mag's 'DJ Face Off' cd comp, Mark Farina's 'Live at Om' compilation on Om records, Slip n Slide presents Ibiza and Roger Sanchez' Release Yourself.

In 2005 Demarkus launched Grin Music as his home base label. Grin began as a deep house label while now, 3 years later, it has morphed into a blend of house and techno. Alongside housing some of his own productions, Grin has featured artists such as Chicago's Gene Farris, Timmy Vegas of Soul Central and DBR aka Rhythm Slaves.

Demarkus has evolved as an artist into what he calls the DA LEECH (debut release on Conya Records 2008- Enter Da Leech E.P.). "Leech is an alter state of being who creates a mood of sound somewhere between Glitch tech house and hardcore floor stomping techno that tends to hold resonance of the darker side dance music," explains D Lewis. Now living in London, he has joined forces with a label partner German DJ/Producer Maxime Cescau (aka Big Ape) to bring forth 'Planet Math' a new label specializing in new edge techno sound.

As a DJ with over 18 years experience , Lewis has performed in venues like Stompy (San Francisco) Club Rayo (Argentina), Metro Bass (Rotterdam), Silo (Belgium),Neighborhood (London)and Tresor (Berlin). Traveling to Chicago once a month for his residency he held for nearly two years had him playing alongside Derrick Carter, Johnny Fiasco, Paul Johnson, Chris Santiago (Santiago&Bushido) and many others. Dallas' longest running weekly residency was also held by Demarkus at Zubar for over 5 years. Monthly guests included Jay J, Andy Caldwell, Mr.V, Osunlade, Jerome Sydenham, Ian Friday, Boo Williams, Jask and Diz (as well as many more).

Demarkus is currently focusing on his labels as well as finding time to do guest mixes on radio shows including Tania Von Pear's Ministry of Sound broadcast and various internet and specialist stations around the globe.
