About

At the tender age of 15 Delimentary walked past a second-hand store. In the window sat the nastiest pair of old school
decks you ever saw! Tempted by the thought of imitating his heroes of the day, Chad Jackson, DJ Cheese, Grandmaster Flash,
he took them back home and began what would become his lifelong passion with his craft.

After deciding that this would be his chosen career, Del began to get the usual array of grim mobile gigs. He moved to
Blackpool and got his first gig in a proper club. He desperately wanted to play cool, funky music. He was advised though
that to have a career in this industry, he’d have to be versatile, so up there in the North West, the home of many great DJ’s
& entertainers, he learnt exactly that, to entertain. One of the highlights of his career at this point, coming from a Jazz
musicians family, was to have his Grandfather see him play and actually approve of his career choice!

Travelling up and down the country, in many of the UK’s best clubs and even doing five summers in Greece, Del had a
foundation and knowledge that would stand him in great stead, for the time would soon come where he would end up playing
the kind of tunes he’d always wanted. He had pioneered the Fun Pub explosion, been a Manager of a top club circuit act,
opened some of the tastiest clubs in the country, had a top rated radio show in the south, run his own club in Corfu and been
a warm up jock for the Radio 1 dance parties. Then a family friend asked him to come and see a tiny little club in Brighton.

In 2000, DJ Del created the Funkyfish Club in Brighton. After 10 years of hard work, it remains one of
Brighton’s best little treasures and is where Del chopped, shaped and formed the style you know him for today.

You can currently watch Delimentary rock the 4 decks & do his thing every Saturday at the Funkyfish Club in Brighton
He is bringing a whole batch of music rarely heard to a brand new audience but performed in an exciting,
new way. His unique style and delivery on 4 decks is met, time after time, with massive critical acclaim:

“Delimentary is an inspiration to all DJ’s out there, with his aim at purely entertaining the crowd. His incredible and unique skillz show he is a man on a
mission to blend and scratch his way through all styles, giving us an education as well as a journey”
Krafty Kuts

“Brighton has discovered a new talent, DJ Del is like the love child of DJ Yoda and Mr Scruff, his amazing style of 4 deck mixing and
octopus like skills are utterly mesmerizing”
Juice FM Brighton

After a hugely varied start to his career, Del is back at the beginning, playing the types of music he dreamt of, but in a way
even he never imagined. He was always quite technical and still proudly holds an old cutting from Blues & Soul magazine, quoting him as ‘that wicked scratcher DJ Del’. The level of his technical ability has now far exceeded even his own
expectations. His trademark four decks, his Apple Mac and various other toys get pushed
to the absolute edge every week. He has become something of a multi crowd pleaser too, with an ability to rock not only the
coolest of gigs but bring the house down at huge student parties too, fusing his multitude of musical experience and
inimitable style. He has also recently been the first ever non A-list DJ to appear on the home page of the worlds biggest DJ
website, Pioneers ‘DJsounds.com’, where they featured his ‘live at the Funkyfish’ video that has
bought him much attention & respect.

This Biog is a story that continues. As you read this he is making plans to take his style of performance globally, showing
audiences that you can create an exciting, technically brilliant, spellbinding performance, but without the usual blinkered
approach to music, opening a crowds eyes to 4 decades of funkyness on 4 decks! He is in the studio too, creating music
in his unique way, with his beloved funky break beats as the core of it all. His first ever tune being signed to 'Disco Cakes' a Ghetto Funk label, wiith many more tunes in the pipeline and Funk label 'Bombastic Jam' commisioning him to create a mix video of their back catalogue this new chapter in his career should be watched with interest!

For DJ’s, he is a must see, a real eye opener and inspiration. When someone spends 2 weeks perfecting a ten minute mix,
it’s something you need to witness. For Del, it’s not just a job, it’s a passion.
