About

Born and bred in the various free parties in the eastern part of France during the mid 90's, Defcon's interest for the electronic scene found a concrete embodiment when he bought his first pair of 12K's in 1998. With the opening of the infamous Warehouse Records Store in Metz the same year, he was able to buy 12"s on a regular basis and socialize withe owners, the soon-to-become Rex resident Anthony Adam and Natik. After a while, they supported Defcon through their radio show "Basic Groove". With always positive feedback, these 15 minutes long mixes remain famous for Defcon's ability to spin up to 7 records in this short time. Thanks to the show, Defcon was able to play at various venues around Metz until he had to put DJing activities on hold to recolate in the UK in 2003.

Inspired by the likes of Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin and Surgeon to name a few, his sets are a delightful combination of fat basslines and banging kicks, with the occasional melodic hook for good measure. Always full of tension and transcending boundaries between genres, his sets are more than likely to take you on a journey where body and soul will become one.
