Defected In The House: Zouk Out Singapore '10

1 track, 1.30 Defected Records on October 20, 2009 14:58

Defected Records’ last destination release for 2010 is Singapore. We’ve travelled the World experiencing some of the greatest clubs and parties, hitting the Winter Music Conference in Miami, a whole season at Pacha in Ibiza, the ADE conference in Amsterdam and now its time to stretch our legs and head to the Far East.

In conjunction with the infamous Zouk club in Singapore and the annual Zouk Out Festival, Defected are proud to present the official soundtrack to Zouk.

Singapore has always been a hub of excitement – a mixing pot of cultures, races, ages, fashions and musical styles.

Zouk has become THE club in the far east, with a who’s who of the Worlds greatest DJs gracing its hallowed DJ booth: Danny Tenaglia, Fatboy Slim, Sasha, Little Louie Vega, Joe Claussell, Francois K have all been guests, so its with great honour that Defected can partner Zouk with this release.

Longtime Zouk resident djB delivers a very current house mix, ranging from en vogue productions from Dennis Ferrer (Sinfonia Della Note), Marco Carlo (Bloody Cash), Super Flu (Shine) and summer smash ‘La Mezcla’ by Michael Cleis alongside his own production ‘Incheon’. Not content with looking forward, B gives a nod to the past and some of the records that have become classics when blasted from Zouk’s shattering sound system; X-Press 2’s ‘London Express’, DJ Gregory’s Don’t Know Malendo’ as well as South Street Players ‘Who Keeps Changing My Mind’ (Daniel Bovie & Roy Rox Remix).

Defected founder Simon Dunmore takes a similar approach by combining a plethora of upfront releases from a variety of labels with inclusions from the likes of Martijn ten Velden, ATFC, Eric Morillo and Sebo K sprinkled with classics from Hardrive and one of the defining vocal house records; Black Magic’s ‘Freedom’

Bonus full length DJ mixes from both djB and Simon Dunmore make this must have!
