Martin Hirsch's project Deer can best be summed up as Detroit-influenced House that draws on found sounds, organic synths and engaging emotional tensions. Focussing on finely detailed fragments, Martin tries to create an acoustic space that equally suits headphones and an (open-minded) dancefloor.
Deer has played live across Europe, playing gigs with a diverse set of artists like Kangding Ray, Alva Noto, Deaf Center and Move D. Martin also runs the reborn record label Neo Ouija and is organising music festivals as part of the STFU collective.
His discography so far includes a remix for Metamatics on Hydrogen Dukebox and a collaboration with Norken for Combination Records, as well as various compilation contributions. He also releases on netlabels like Ekwal and Hippocamp, sometimes under the moniker of his experimental project "random noise productions". Deer's full-length debut album is currently in the final stages of production.

@opuswerk mmh, might be that the main melody plays a bit too much throughout I agree... gonna sit down with again next week or so but you're very welcome to have a go at it if you like - possibility of vinyl action next spring :)
@mick chillage: cheers Mick - it's not 100% done yet, had it resting for a couple of months and some of the changes are a bit abrupt, but I like my tunes unwieldy =D

@opuswerk: cheers - yeah in hindsight i definitely should've loosened the rhythm pattern a bit.. damn my lazyness, I just want the mk2 for the 4 bars! the nord plays and sequences the chord, which at times is resampled by a RAM machine on the MD and sent back into the G2 for the delays and physical-modding "scratchy" chord sounds.
@BassWorte: thanks :) that's the part of the synth jam that defines the tune for me! it's a nord modular g2 line resampled by the machinedrum then back to the g2 for fx - wish I could pull it off live at will :p
