Need a gift for a gifted musician?
dj dom aka king dom is a Polish refugee who came to SF at age 3 in 1986. He started mixing on a pair of belt drive numarks in his garage at his moms house when he was 15 years old. He's been collecting records since. At eighteen in 2001, he bought his pair of 1200s from Israel who used to run Zebra Records on Haight and Fillmore. His first record was bought in 1997 at Tweekin Records. Dom has been a long time supporter of the record store which is now called Vinyl Dreams (thank you Mike Bee for keeping the store alive). Dom took a few classes in electronic music and started messing around with reason over the years. In his younger years, he teamed up with a startup crew called Ron & Ruko Productions where he was the only house dj in the d7b crew. He promoted events, secured club venues and booked djs as well. The company went under and Dom started pursuing an environmental science and business degree, which he is currently working on. Currently, he has teamed up with Matt aka Sabotage from Cali King Crab and has done a few shows with their crew. Dom has been looking into getting more into music production, but is recovering from his laptop getting stolen in 2012. Gear is expensive as is rent in SF. Keep a lookout for this local SF house deejay. His academic career might come first for the time being, but his true dear passion is in house music. Dom=House Dom1Luv1Nation Many people wear many hats in SF. There are more important things in life than partying. The world is a messed up place and it is up to us to fix it. Our children are depending on us.
