Situation (a Discobody electric move)
The British synthpop duo Yazoo was formed in late 1981 by former Depeche Mode songwriter/keyboard player Vince Clarke and the divine Alison Moyet (Adele may be her successor but it was Alison who started the flame). Signed to Mute Records in the United Kingdom and (as Yaz) to Sire Records in the United States they released their debut single, the electronic ballad "Only You" in 1982. It proved to be huge peaking at #2 in the UK Pop charts.
Yet it was the flip side “Situation” that did the trick in the U.S. This totally addictive futuristic jam, remixed by François Kevorkian & engineered by John Potoker, swept the dancefloors in New York (big favourite in Paradise Garage), Detroit & Chicago and topped the US Hot Disco/Dance chart for four weeks undoubtedly sowing seeds for house music. Most notable is that it also entered the US R&B chart peaking at #31, quite impressive if not utterly unusual for a white English synth band!!
“Situation”’s intoxicating hook has been sampled numerous times since then. A few examples are: “Lesson 1 (the pay-off mix)” by Double Dee & Steinski (1985), “Nude Photo” by Rhythim Is Rhythim (1987), “Traveling at the Speed of Thought (remix)” by Ultramagnetic MC's (1988), “Bass (How Low Can You Go?)” by Simon Harris, “I Wanna Have Some Fun” by Samantha Fox (1988), “Pump That Body” by Mr. Lee (1990), “Macarena” by Los Del Rio (1995), "In Da Arena (Situation)" by Flying Steps (2000), "If This Is Love" by The Saturdays (2008), "Body Language" by Heidi Montag (2009), "Boom" by Snoop Dogg feat T-Pain (2011) etc.
On this mix I intend to volume up its intensity "messing around" with plenty electro sound twists and vocal alterations. Extra synths, beats & hi-hats, longer breaks, different intro & outro sum it up pretty much. Enjoy :)
“Blue eyed dressed for every situation
Moving through the doorway of a nation
Pick me up and shake the doubt
Baby, I can't do without
I remember only for an hour
Move right through me, can you feel the power?
I don't know what's going on
It scares me but it won't be long
Move out, don't mess around
Move out, you bring me down
Move out, how you get about
Don't make a sound, just move out
Now he's in control, he is my lover
Nations stand against him, he's your brother
Been a long time, been a long time now
I'll get to you somehow”

What an excellent interpretation you've done with this fantastic track. Love the way you've added to the laughing echo, and there are too many other fabulous discobody bits to mention. Sorry I've been slack and not visited here for awhile.

Really top quality rework - lots of very clever, and also very familiar, little touches sprinkled here and there - very, very good indeed - can only imagine how good it would sound in a 320+
