About

Juxtaposing atmospheric orchestral pop with an adventurous spirit of sonic experimentation, the trio Decomposing In Paris are gaining a reputation for being a truly special act. They are scheduled to release their much anticipated second EP (Cocoon) on 4 April 2014 - the follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut (Personal Ad) in 2012. Fronted by the quirky and winged Becca Hopkins (extended vocalist, soprano), the trio has been compared by audiences to Kate Bush, Bjork, Muse, and Regina Spektor. Essential to the artful signature sound are composer and classical pianist Aoife Lynch as well as guitarist and producer Garvin Clements. Lynch creates the music’s undercurrent with enchanting piano and percussion arrangements, while Clements embellishes with poetic lines, samples, and effects to construct a unique aura of texture. They forge enthralling and hypnotic beats that penetrate through atmospheric soundscapes while Hopkins’ wildly dynamic and hauntingly beautiful voice breathe into life the lyrics telling of the turmoil and complexities in political strife, unrequited love, and other autobiographical experiences. Having wooed audiences as part of BBC Introducing’s In Session, GiftedLive.com, and last summer’s American tour, they are now bringing this cocktail of amazing songs, thoughtful lyrics, fantastic musicianship, and intoxicating show across NI & ROI. It is a must see experience....but unlike any rabbit hole you have ever been down.
