Carlos Salgueiro is the real name behind DEAD END. Born on the 30th of December of 1989 and hailing from Amadora, he began producing when he was about 17. Being a cinema student at the time, he only made soundtracks for short films. Meanwhile, as an avid consumer of rap and electronic music he decided to dedicate his full attention on beatmaking.
Always striving to make something new and different and to create his own style, doing that in search of a language that can speak to many hearts and spark the listener to identify himself with it.
His dedication and hard work lead him to participate in URBAN BEAT BATTLE '11 in Musicbox Lisboa. Then and there he shattered his anonymity, surprising attendants and the jury, DEAD END drove his point home after several rounds against producers from all over the country, winning the competition.
Still in 2011 he drops Tonight We Feel The True Lights, his first EP. We can feel that this first approach was still pretty much under the light of the fierce competition he was in, through heavy variations and violent swings on each track, always emphasizing his very own sonority. In 2012 he releases I Love You, a beatape that transpired into an EP, compiling old works and giving them a makeover. DEAD END made good use of all his technique and know-how on samples and soul music. In the same year erupts Space Bass and The Green Bakery. Influenced by the recent wave of Trap Music, the strong fusion of rap and electronic music and also by the rampant surge of innovating producers. This EP shows us a whole new side of his work. Here you can count with the collaboration of SICKONCE (G.I. Joe) who masterized all tracks. Also the only EP that, besides being available for free download through BANDCAMP, is also available on physical format.
Since then, he's been steadily amazing us with various loose beats and remixes which are always available for audition and free download on his SOUNDCLOUD.

As of now, DEAD END is working hard on solo projects and mysterious new collaborations.
