Deacon-one, born and raised in Los Angeles. one of LA's original drum & bass pioneers and founder of the legendary Wreck-Ignition events - Since the mid-90's Deacon has represented Los Angeles Drum & Bass at home and around the country, playing some of the largest clubs, music festivals, massives, warehouse raves,and all-jungle events the scene has to offer. Deacon has played in every major city in the US including Hawaii, New York, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Washington D.C, San Francisco, Seattle, Baltimore, Denver, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Kansas city, San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix, Portland, Las Vegas,and many others as well as Vancouver B.C and Rosarito Beach Mexico. He has had residencies with some of the largest event promoters and has been on bills with virtually every drum & bass heavyweight in the game as well as hip-hop artists such as DE LA SOUL, CYPRUS HILL, THE ROOTS, KRS-ONE, OUTKAST, BIG DADDY KANE, JURASSIC 5, DIALATED PEOPLES, SOULS OF MISCHIEF, THE VISIONARIES and many others. Deacon's reputation for consistency and ability to control a room, combining complicated mixing techniques with turntablism and scratching, helped develop a large and loyal following and has been an inspiration and influence to many dj's and fans alike. He has turned crowds out at some of the most well known events in the country including AUDIOTISTIC, ELECTRIC DAISY CARNIVAL, CYPRUS HILL SMOKE OUT, NOCTURNAL WONDERLAND, NATION,BASSCON, THE ZEN FESTIVAL, COOLWORLD, JUJU BEATS, NARNIA, HOW SWEET IT IS as well as some of the most respected like CONCRETE JUNGLE, RESPECT, ECLECTIC, DEEP, I LOVE LA, BASSRUSH, SCIENCE, MIDNIGHT BOMBERS and many many others.
Deacon began his career in the early 90's playing opening and closing slots in the now infamous underground afterhours scene at clubs like WHAT?, CAFIEND, D.A.R.E and ANGIE'S HERBAL JUNGLE.In February of 1997, Deacon along with his brothers & cousins and a couple friends got together and threw the first WRECK-IGNITION event, which was to become the first in a long series of now legendary all-jungle events which helped spark a movement that would launch the careers of some of the most respected names in the LA underground.
