"...excellent latin-breakbeat roller rework of Mankoora‘s El Loco, which steams through at a breezy 140-plus bpm" (28.5.13)

This remix is included on the new Hiperbole Records compilation Jamboree 2012

"Jamboree means “Coming together” and Hiperbole’s Jamboree compilation is a melting pot of unreleased nuggets that bring together the label’s artists. Listen to previously unavailable remixes, versions or teasers of forthcoming releases.

Go Jazz Not Ape! is a showcase extraordinaire of the Hiperbole artists’ sound from the past, present and future. From lush Downbeat themes to hot Latin uptempo beats, Dub driven songs to Folky tunes, and from Jazz infused and Soul flavoured Breakbeats to mystical sounding Analog Kraut form the Black Forest, this compilation has it all.

The artwork displays a chaotic “Death Star” composition of boxes and speakers done by Austrian Graphic Artist Dubhead, underlining how it's all about the sound. Triberg opens the album with the great bass and drum-driven “Lafette”, while Renegades Of Jazz join forces with Soul singer Jane Kennaway to deliver a brass-driven and soulful mid-tempo Jazz theme. Daytoner keeps things moving with his Latin rendition of Mankoora's “El Loco” and Mister Bingle & Renegades Of Jazz come together for their “Bossa Nostra”. Get your hips shakin' to Savages' “Beatsmith”, a breakbeat and brass styled uptempo jam, as well as German beat connoisseur Quincy Jointz’s superb remix of Napz' “Ain't Got Nobody”. Fredo, who gained notoriety through various compilations, delivers Dub anthem “Black Panther” featuring beautiful horn lines and a great arrangement.

Kaleidoscope Jukebox once again shows off his production skills on the wonderful remix of Loopez's “Wachimanes”, taking it into an exotic and Latin direction, while UK based producer Simon Ham aka Phase 5 Stereo turns 90's Latin Jazz track “South Of the Sun” by Skip & The Velvet Black into a modern Acid Jive. Madball Scientists has been re-souled by South-American based Loopez who takes this dusty Jazz number into Latin depths, working it into a wonderful slow-tempo belter. German Funk duo Mash & Munkee show that they're also great at working out some Jazz fudge with the upright “Spines And Rays” featuring bass clarinet. Savages again has been remixed by the wonderful Cuz who turned track “Fun” into a dark Downbeat joy. Hamburg-based Folk duo Sirens And Whistles recorded their song “Man's Freedom” exclusively for this compilation and with it prove how a guitar and vocals are enough to create an intriguing tune. The Penguin Walkers provide a track from their upcoming EP on Hiperbole, “Nosferatu”, a dark and mysterious sounding Jazz theme inspired by movie soundtracks. Finally Berlin-based producer and multi-instrumentalist André Lamb aka Audiophysical features the flute of Marseille-based Hugo Kant for a deep sounding and drum layered track.

Get excited by the Hiperbole Jamboree!
