    “The Cosmic Serpent”

In July 2011, vOPhoniQ made the decision to record a follow-up to his first LP, Human & Computer. Strengthened by new experiences and epochal readings (most notably Jeremy Narby’s “The Cosmic Serpent”), with his new release this young Lyonnais artist theorizes the creation of his own universe. Several months spent composing have given rise to a reflection of his self-questioning and the intimist atmosphere in which he works. Here, he presents a true introspective narrative, which everyone can connect to.

    An album which transcends boundaries

More than simply a series of songs, whether it be methodical or not, Cosmogonie should be viewed as a homogenous and indivisible whole. While an album can usually only be listened to, this LP transcends a merely aural experience, much like the way in which we watch a film. Through the manner and skill with which they intertwine, with every sound our senses are presented with an endless number of images, different according to each individual’s perception. This is a timeless piece of work, as much in its plausible perpetual reinterpretation as its stylistic emancipation; between techno and experimental, fantastical and erotic, or even optimism and desperation, it cannot be lumped into one particular genre, or quietly tidied away into any category.
