Since investing in a pair of turntables whilst studying Art at college David's passion for dance music hasn't faltered one bit.
"Originally back in 1999 my friends and I were into the massive Trance scene that had been emerging from mainland Europe"
With DJs such as Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk regularly playing at local superclub Gatecrasher it seemed for David the future was set in stone. However listening to the B sides of big trance records introduced him to a whole new world of music.
"I heard the incredibly deep Sander Kleinenberg remix of System F's "Exhale" and it blew my mind"
From then on the passion for new and different styles of dance music developed, taking influences from a range of genres such as downtempo, leftfield, ambient and indie to where his roots lay in progressive, deep, tribal and tech-house David's quest to obtain obscure tracks and alternative versions of his favourite tunes began.
"In 2001 I left college and for the next four years I was resident DJ at a couple of bars in town"
After taking a long break from the scene in 2005 due to other commitments David secured a two hour radio show on local station Sine FM. Into The Darkness brings you David's unique blend of underground dance music from disco, funk and soul influenced house music to deep, dark tribal and progressive beats. Into The Darkness first aired on Christmas Eve 2011 and broadcasts every other Saturday night at midnight alternating with the Faciendo radio show.
