Songwriters who have that way with words, that ability to make any phrase sound like rock 'n' roll, they're always interesting, no matter what they're saying or what key it's being said in. David Stephenson has it!

David has lived out West for many years now, but was born and raised in Port Huron, Michigan outside Detroit. That was the 70's and there was all kinds of great music kicking around. David's biggest influence is probably all the Motown stuff, but he loves both punk, experimental and industrial sounds. He started out recording on cheap cassette decks and moved on to the Tascam 4-track, and eventually the DAW. The music is kind of an abstract journal of his life. Sometimes it's very direct and other times it's an amalgamation of experiences and feelings. To David that was the "punk philosophy", follow your passion and don't be afraid to color outside the lines. Try and move outside your comfort zone and don't be afraid to make mistakes. In fact, if you make enough of the same mistakes it may begin to accumulate into some facsimile of originality.
