Having been involved in music since the mid-nineties and producing seriously since May 2010, it was Dave's creation under the System Status moniker that caught the attention of
Untracked Recordings. Released in November 2010, "Downtime" was his debut release and a lifetime goal crystallised in 180 gram wax that went on to receive airplay from Gilles Peterson.
Dave then emerged with "Take Root" from his project the Detroit Urban Gardening Ensemble. Ashley Beedle loved the track and thought it would be perfect for his Out Here Audio label. The buzz on "Take Root" was huge following airplay from Ross Allen.
Later that year Dave was back as System Status and head honcho of his own label Night Sweats. All three tracks on the labels debut offering "Planet X" brimmed with the analogue warmth of Dave's beloved Arp Axxe and the soulful samples from his treasured vinyl collection, creating a juxtaposition of sounds essential for any discerning space raver!
Most recently the Tusk Wax crew commissioned a System Status track for their new off-shoot Horn Wax. In response to the task Dave delivered the 9 minute, deep-house workout "Street Quiche", sharing the wax with Missile Crisis on the flip.
