  maybe i'm taking the wrong impression when you say it's supposed to be a sad song. i hear the desperation in the vocals, but the percussive elements are too violent to emit a truly 'sad' emotion. it feels more anxious and chaotic than anything. very unnerving, like waiting for something catastrophic to happen.
