In 2011, Dashius Clay released his first project "Black Shades At Night" alongside the "Overseas Trendsetter", DJ Mister Hustla. With a handful of features and remixes from the likes of Chromeo, deadmau5, Tiesto, Afrojack, Tinie Tempah, and many more, Dashius Clay brought an entire new blend of sound to the table. With such a wide spectrum of music, "Black Shades At Night" had instant crossover success. Shortly after, Dashius paired up with the notorious International DJ's, Funkwell and Daan’D for "Touch Me" which within days turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the year that eventually landed Dashius his first record on the charts. With over 3 million combined plays worldwide under his belt, Dashius went back to work with the European duo “Global Cult” to create his second chart landing single “Barcelona” in 2012. With his #Dashaholiks growing weekly by the hundreds, it wouldn't be long before Dashius was forced to release a new body of work.
Fresh off receiving his Gold Plaque, long-time friend and producer Sarcazm Smith reached out to DC for whom he knew would be perfect to soundtrack his biopic tale. "Celebrating Pain" was the perfect blend of raw emotion and a gut-wrenching storyline. To accompany the soundtrack of course came the mini-movie "Broke Heart + Anger", directed by iamKingXXI whom was fresh off his We The Best Tour with DJ Khaled and Ace Hood. Starring Dashius Clay as himself, "Celebrating Pain" was a global success. Not only did the music receive astounding reviews, but the mini-movie opened up a million new doors for Dashius. It helped set him even further apart from the pack by displaying his almost effortless ability to transform himself once again.
In late 2012, Dashius began a viral campaign known as “Free Sex”. For months he began teasing the world with only visuals of what would soon turn out to be the title of his debut album. Hitting the reinvention wheel once again, Dashius delivered one of the most unexpected albums of the year. Led by “Mercy” and “Free Sex”, Dashius’ rise seem to find no limit. Spending a large amount of 2013 releasing remixes like “Get Lucky” (Daft Punk), “Treat Me Like Fire” (Lion Babe), “So Many Details” (Toro y Moi), and #ProjectRemix helped crown Dashius once again as a monster in the making.
