Dark Dark Horse the collaboration between producer Jamie Ward (ex Kyte/Current Maybeshewill) and singer James Stafford (kids in cars). When they play live they are joined by Joe Norledge and Robin Southby. They hail from the leafy countryside of Leicestershire, UK. Jamie writes the music and James turns these electronics doodles into fully fledged songs. After posting some initial demos online the power of the internet began to propel the bands music round the world. Typically this meant that the first label to take a shine to the band was based 5000 miles away from their hometown with Japanese label Rallye (Toro Y Moi, Au Revoir Simone, The Joy Formidable) offering to release an album.
After releasing their debut album 'Centuries' in Japan in November 2010 the band are now setting their sites a little closer to home, gaining day time national radio play, impressing BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson enough for him to ask them for an interview and in and odd twist of fate given odds to win the Mercury prize by Labrokes.com
