The idea is there but too bad I don't have a real string quartet and avante garde orchestra in my closet, just yet..
@Olivier Maunick: Thanks so much!!!
great, really clever stuff.
Ahh Darius I've missed your warped world of sound! Love the video game inclusion!
Absolutely stunning work! Gives me a slight Beatles vibe, but it also sounds very unique because of the avante garde harmonies. Love the sound effects in the middle part. Very nicely done, Darius!
Beautiful Shoebox imagery....and the introduction of all the other sprinkled elements, Yer a remarkable Man Mr Greene....idea to fruition....flower to child, and all bound on the wind....brings to my mind the dance of Death at the fade of Bergmans Seventh Seal, the imagery that is....I am learning that all the Tick-Tock of musical craft is your own Sir
Darius In the Underworld
@HanJan: Thanks for this too, and for re-sharing it on twitter. Very very kind!! I'm fairly proud of the lyrics for this one, I like the strings but would surely be better with a real quartet. But then, why wouldn't it be, heh
Awesome song Darius. Such a great atmosphere and consistently interesting throughout. I listened with the lyrics at the same time, but want to come back to this one several times, to make closer friends with it. Really interesting, both lyrically and musically.
The Imaginarium of Darius Greene, Mr Gilliam should make a movie about this ... you are a fount of creativity. Amazing stuff.
A highly original piece - would fit well in a show of sorts. KF.
Darius, this is a rare composition! Really excellent!
@Maxx Black: Thank you very much Mr. Black!
Man Darius, you've got some amazing skills..... wonderful!
@Gary Sunshine: Thank you Gary. I wrote this, or the first variation at the end of 2008 during the financial crash then, so it even slightly pulls from what was going on with refinancing scams etc, but then I don't try to focus in on any political notion as much as capturing the time period emotionally, the lyrics still deal with many things and are open to much metaphor I hope..
@benja16:): Means a lot to me. very much
@Rotorro: Thanks so much!!
Love that line Mr. Greene. also much dig this menacing little ditty. Excellent string writing as always.
wonderful song. i especially like the sound effects in this section, but they work because the whole concept and execution of the song is so unique. my mind will surely be dwelling on the idea of cut-out flowers and children later today.
Great song - drags you in and then wont let you out!
every time i start listening to one of your songs, i know i'm going to be taken off to some distant place. once again, i'm off....
@The Sandman's Orchestra: Really appreciate that Pierre, thanks for re'tweeting' it as well! Enjoying your new song now..
Hello Man, i been singin Color Bars again!!.. .. .. i do that!!....
This would be awesome in a movie..Very creative
This is great!!!
@Heidi Harris: Thank ye!!! :)
What a really good piece of work. Like for a movie, I get my imagination stimulated hearing this. The lyrics, and more- the rhythm and tempo and the changes, and that cello...like sinister or twisted but in a good way. Enjoyable!
This section is singularly cool. Great piece!
