    Diamond Dust

    Like atom bombs kissing trees
your lips can burn while they freeze
your veins are fire pumping ice
a frost which boils as it bites

Black suns will burn like stars gone bust,
    reflections rust in diamond dust

    Like toxic waste tasting tides,
your tongue can poison while it hides.
Your words are still beating wings,
that voice which mutes as it sings.

Glass hearts will bleed like tongues bit down,
a microphone both dead and loud.

    Like fever brings altered states,
    mutated ghosts which elate.
A faucet drip, dripping, oceans and seas,
a beast whose trapped when it’s free.

    As ghostly fingers strangle earth,
with childish notions starved from birth.

An addict hates what it needs,
a fruit that spoils while it feeds.
Your pious kneels to empty empty space.
A painter blinded by their grace.

Black suns will burn like stars gone bust,
    reflections rust in diamond dust
