The animals knew that something was different
And with one eye open and their ears to the air
    They listened
To the tremulous breeze through the heat
    For the echoes and whispers
    Of this distant dissonance.

Lying in the only greenery for miles
    On this ancient plain of
    one million wild thoughts
this newborn form still crackling and raw
a returned god in an old world
curled tightly upon the dusty floor.

    A stammering heartbeat
Her feet push her body from the ground
Her eyes reach the sky and
    A joyous cry erupts
As her sisters the winds gather closely
And sing to celebrate her return.

    The ground cracks and aches
And the animals stir in anticipation
All eyes on her ascension to the horizon

    She gathers her children
    collected to her breast
are each and every single breath
from plants and trees the worlds breadth.

    Damp and excitable
They entwine and climb to the skies roof
    Building a pale mountain
    That fades to a bruise
As it grows and spreads and
Begins to rumble the good news
‘We are the encroaching, life giving,
    thunderous deluge.’

In the center of her family,
    Calm blue eyed and jubilant,
Chiuta moves and sways and spins
Weaving electric tension with her fingers,
She holds the moment for so long
    That every living creature below
Calls out with the same song
