About

I'd like to thank everyone for your thoughts. I only wish I could read them. Unfortunately, waveform comments still are being truncated by the "New" Soundcloud (their term for making SC more like every other service while removing the features that made the original the best service). I've noticed a tendency toward very short comments, and a steep drop-off in replies. This makes sense, as the "New" SC is driving the trend toward shallow one-offs, and away from the deeper, more meaningful, community-orientation of the past. After a year of trying over and over to get used to the "New" SC, I have realized that as long as the waveform changes remain, I will never like it.

I keep hoping another service will appear with the old conversation-oriented waveform of the original SC. Not likely. I'm not interested in "big brother" sites like Facebook or anything by Google (YouTube), as I don't want all my Internet usage collected, profiled and sold.

Though I've kept with the old interface, it has become but a shell of its former glory, as the comments are fewer, shallower, and with no replies...at all. Why reply to a comment when the reply won't (can't) be read? Hard to believe the SC executive who is no doubt behind this clearly undemocratic design decision could possibly be so blind to the needs of the paying users.

Have a nice day!
