"Beirut" by Damon Hill ft. Jonathan Corey (Steed Sound) on Piano

Recorded at Steed Sound in Somerville, MA. We highly recommend Jonathan to all Boston-area musicians. He's a terrific engineer, his equipment and techniques are top notch, and his prices are super reasonable. We pulled this off in one take (with some extra layers) in the middle of a hurricane...he's that good. Check him out at:

If you had seen your face tonight
    Then you would understand why
Despite the love that we have known
    That I must go

You were a lonely tired girl
And I loved to make you smile
But now that smile’s faintly dim
    So I must go

We will go down down you and I
We will go down down you and I

It was a long long time ago
That I believed in love at first sight
Perhaps a cynic I have grown
    So I must go

We will go down down you and I
We will go down down you and I

    But there was a time
When the moon shone in your eyes
    All dappled and white
    And we were so alive
And I wish most every night
To see you in that light
    When we weren’t so down

    (We weren’t so down)
Up to our necks with the feeling we're out of control
Breaking us down into pieces and creases of folds we don't show
Back when our walls so laughably small were more than we needed
Didn't know then we'd fall in the end when waters receded

When we weren’t so down down you and I
When we weren’t so down down you and I
