DJ Flapjack began mixing at underground warehouse parties in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1999. He put on events with Section Eight and Contortion Productions all over Northern California and ran a rave sound system at numerous other events as well. Over the years DJF has mixed many genres, including breakbeat, electro, disco house, disco-funk, indy house, progressive house, psy-house, deep house, and minimal. He enjoys extended sets that combine wide variety with serious dance-worthy attitude. In recent years DJF has embraced the vibes of Burning Man and Ecstatic Dance and organized a series of campout parties combining art, music, and plenty of fire. Major inspirations include Kissy Sellout and Annie Nightingale.
After a year in Vietnam playing clubs throughout the country, including Taboo (Hanoi), Chill, Cloud Nine, Vascos (Saigon), DJ Station (Mui Ne), and many more, DJF is returning to the San Francisco Bay Area in November.
