Dale Perkins is Head of Postgraduate Studies & Research Centre at Leeds College of Music (UK) and he teaches electroacoustic music and music production on the College’s MA/MMus Performance and Composition programmes. His research interests lie in electroacoustic music composition and compositional analysis. Dale is the Director of the Electronic Music Ensemble n.one which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2012.
In addition to being a composer, Dale has commitments to electroacoustic music analysis and perception and welcomes interdisciplinary approaches to further our understanding of compositional methodology and reception. Since 2007 his works are largely poly-stylistic and blend traditional acousmatic and popular music techniques. His works have been performed internationally and he is an active member of the Composers' Desktop Project along with leading electroacoustic composers such as Trevor Wishart. Early works are commercially available on the compilation CDs Pressence III and DISContant! 3 - http://www.electrocd.com/en/bio/perkins_da/. Works can also be downloaded at www.daleperkins.co.uk. His piece Voice Without Words was selected as part of the Bourges International Electroacoustic Music Competition (2009) – Electronic Arts category.
