“Elixir” is Cualli's first EP, his first LP “Quantum” having been self released in late 2010. The album is based on the idea of personal transformation. The elixir of the alchemists is a substance which turns lead to gold, brings spirit into inanimate objects, thus causing the object to reach its greatest potential. The tracks on “Elixir” are created for the same purpose. Just as lead has the potential to become gold, people have the potential to be immensely wonderful beings. Music and art can catalyze this process by helping listener or viewer to realize and attune with more subtle aspects of their higher self. The EP is also inspired by Cualli's experience living and performing ceremony with a shaman in the Amazon. The album artwork, painted by Cualli, is based off of visions he had during this stay and is amongst other things, a self portrait. The painting is also a visual extension of the music and ideally should be viewed while listening to the album in its entirety. Utilizing Ableton, Moog synthesis, raging guitar solos, field recordings (many of which were captured in the Amazon) and other digital and sampled instruments, Cualli has created a unique work of art, sure to bless the hearts of many.
