Essex born and raised, Dean Boylan aka DEM 2 is an innovator and pioneer of 2step/Garage, if not the first, certainly one of the founders of the scene/genre.

DEM 2, is best known for the ground breaking hit "Destiny", which still smashes up the dancefloors worldwide to this day. His history dates back to the early days of acid house, when he made "Its a trip" (at the ripe old age of 15) with Housemaster general, under the name of "Children of the Night",causing such a stir with its drug fuelled lyrics that it was banned from being sold by the government and never reached its full potential, only hitting No.41 in the national charts.

He followed this up with a collab with the then much touted rapper Q-Tee, "Africa" released on SBK records, which grabbed the attention of the majors, EMI signed Q-Tee and Dean carried on writing and producing for her.

Dean then changed his sound and this was the birth of "2 step" and "Destiny". After much hype, Dean was finally signed to Locked On and the rest is history.,

Seeing the growth of the oddly named future garage / post dubstep scene the Godfather himself decided it was time to step back into the spotlight...

Teaming up again with manager Tony Palmer, the comeback is now on with a new EP 'The Holding' coming out on Tighten Up Records on 29th March.
