A few sleeve notes, shoutouts and influences - 1972 to 2010..... My dad's Motown, soul and disco records that started it all off, Tony Blackburn & Robbie Vincent on Radio 1, Streetsounds and Streetsounds Electro albums, Mike Allen on Capital Radio... still got all my tapes. The whole Golden Age Hip Hop Era, Mantronix, Wild Style, Westwood and Jasper the Vinyl Junkie for dropping Maceo and the Macks on LWR in '87, Ultimate Breaks and Beats, Norman Jay, Judge Jules, Patrick Forge and Trevor Nelson on Kiss 94, Gilles Peterson on Jazz / Kiss / 1FM, The original Starpoint FM, DJ Hype on Fantasy FM, Matthew B & Rat Pack at Busbys, Fabio & Grooverider at Rage, Torpedo Town, Bop and Wildlife craziness at Liverpool Uni, Sasha Tapes, Tony Humphries 90s tapes, Omar!!! Sarah HB, Coldcut, FSOL Yage & Cyberface, AWOL, Lost, Fabio & Bukem at Speed, Bobbi and Steve - still love the Garage, Metalheadz at the Blue Note, That's How It Is, Good Times at Notting Hill... Damn that's just the 80s and 90s......Everything since is just a splurge of paint on the easel of life. Chuck in a bit of Jazz from Art Blakey, Pharoah, Bobby Hutcherson... Some magic from Joni Mitchell - Shake it all up...... If it's got soul then I'm into it.
Every now and then I knock out a DJ mix including anything from the above influences, and the odd re-edit..
