Disquiet Junto Association for communal music/sound-making. (Please read the Info tab before posting. All Disquiet Junto tracks are based on specific projects.)
Fifth entry for the disquiet.com "junto" creative challenge.
This project calls for works in which an unprocessed (except for fades) field recording is the foundation, onto (or under) which layers of other sounds or samples are added.
The site of the field recording in this track was a garden near Cape Cod on a warm day, standing by the entrance of a greenhouse, where a lot of flies were buzzing nearby.

Wow. Really phenomenal textures mixed with the field recordings. Very surreal - like a sci-fi scene. Great job.

@cpmcdill: i really like how subtle that (and the other effects) come in at first and gradually assert themselves.

I like it a lot - the rhythmic bits sit genuinely add to it, rather than just sort of sitting on top, which is a bit tricky when starting from a field recording, I reckon

@:¬l: that was a very subtle sound that was in the original field recording that I isolated, effected, and brought back in as a loop.

@matthew barlow: the field recording was made in Massachusetts on a warmish day, at the entrance of a greenhouse where there were a lot of flies buzzing nearby.
