About

Respected by punters and chin-strokers alike for his delivery of upfront sounds across the genre spectrum, you can set your watch by Cosmo’s party-rocking reliability.

Cosmo’s superb set-crafting abilities have established him as the warm-up DJ of choice whenever progressive house superstars roll through Brisbane – Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Joris Voorn, Deadmau5, Robert Babicz and Dave Seaman just some of the names to receive Cosmo’s patented warm-up treatment.

In fact his set in support of Diggers in 2005 was so warmly received no one was really sure if the rapturous applause as it climaxed was for Diggers stepping up to the decks or Cosmo’s own performance. In 2009, his warm-up slot for Sasha was awarded Time Off Magazine's Local Gig of The Year. Plus Hernan Cattaneo named his Family gig (at which Cosmo warmed up) his favourite gig of 2009.

Crafting slow-building warm-ups isn’t the only weapon in the Cosmo Cater arsenal, with his much-vaunted diversity seeing him hold down a six year long residency at Brisbane hotspot Jade Buddha. He’s rocked Sydney and Melbourne and can be seen at guest spots all over Brisbane on most weekends. He has also become a fixture of the festival circuit, with slots at the 2005 Big Day Out Boiler Room, every Summafieldayze to date, as well as Future Music Festival, BBQ Breaks and more. Held in high regard by his peers for having a broad yet cheeky musical taste and the technical skills to back it up, Cosmo is revered as one of Queensland’s finest.
On the production front Cosmo is one half of Arcane Rhythm with Mike Tuppin - their 2003 Vapour Recordings release ‘Shadows/Transient’ was a double-sided atom bomb, so much so that John Digweed played the A Side to a worldwide audience on his Kiss FM show.

2010 and 2011 have been Cosmo's strongest years to date, including a much talked about warm-up for dance music legends Orbital. Along the way he's replenished his armoury by adding competencies in drum 'n' bass and disco (warm-up for Todd Terje), further diversifying his sound.
