Through Naoki Yamaguchi’s many aliases (Cosmic Soul, Jean-Michel Serres, Dark Emotion...) we detect his manifest interest for philosophy, literature, design and Detroit’s techno music. He’s influenced mainly by what he reads and studies; like no other the expression “once a student always a student” fits him perfectly.
His music is defined by stunning “strings”, powerful basses and ever-growing mixes lead the listener to another dimension and wishing to never come back!
Thanks to that, what was supposedly a contract to release a couple of records soon became a partnership with Random Recordings, leading him to become co-owner of the label in 2012. Toxic-R8, the founder of RR, didn’t hesitate to sign down this 27 year old Tokyo born (but living in Osaka) producer /composer.
His prolific work goes from musical production to all the graphics related to Random Recordings and releases on other labels. Within a period of 6 months, he’s responsible for 6 of the 9 RR’s releases, never loosing the sight on the quality standards that he and Toxic-R8 impose for the label. And he has just begun!
Now, he’s already being remixed by people such as Santonio Echols (from the mythical Detroit duo “Reese & Santonio”), Dj Von (Gong Records) and Rob Belleville.
