About
controlvoltage.org sum up my experiences of the 80s with the electronic music project WUR [german translation of Capek's drama "Rossum's Universal Robots"] and his attempt to translate into sound a futuristic and technocratic vision of a man to machine evolution. The productions were related to art video productions, or conceived as ambients for art exhibitions or as sound installations. The WUR project was influenced by the "industrial" scene (Einstürzende Neubauten and Test Dept in particular), from the "live electronic" improvisations of the '70s and also from contemporary avantgarde music composers like Karlheinz Stockhausen, Luciano Berio or Luigi Nono. Beside composing i also lectured and directed workshops on the analog electronic music medium and from 1989 to 1991 i was art director of the electronic and contemporary music festival "L'Altro Suono", featuring the most promising and representative swiss avantgarde groups and musicians of that period like Unknownmix, Nachtluft, Ernst Thoma, Andres Bosshard, Voice Crack (Norbert Moslang), Stephan Wittwer and many others.
Currently, SynthesizersCom. Mos-Lab, Analogue Systems and newer Moog equipment represents the main sound sources along with a vintage Minimoog D and a Roland SH-09.
