Jason aka Codename grew up in Portland listening to
everything in his parent's vinyl collection and dancing in the dark...
When he first heard Detroit Techno at outdoor party in
1994 it brought the realm of beats to the foreground.
Shortly after that he saved up and bought a set of
Technics 1200's and began dj'ing, To his collection
of stuffed animals and any friends brave enough to
face the fledgling dj's frequent Techno train-wrecks
in the hopes that they might be able to witness the
elusive "Totally smooth almost by accident Sick Mix"
Then, it was an album by Goldie Called Timeless in 1996 when Jason first heard
The music he had waited his whole life to hear drum n bass!
It was then that he fell under the magical spell of drum n bass
he ate slept and shat drum n bass for 10 years then in 2006
he woke up from the single genre nightmare and became
diversified.. Well musically anyway...
In 2005 Jason Codename Watt began his first production
efforts, which yielded "much success" with “The Delta”
being Signed By Thermal Recordings in 2006.
Then in 2007 Codename Released “Star e Night" and
"My Casio Goes all Night VIP” on Aleutian Audio. In 2008
He finished a co lab album With Rubik Records Boss,
Kubiks with tracks entitled “Desimator And Bitsteam”
Which was released on vinyl in 2009.
Recently he has focused his production efforts on
Down tempo dub step core and a bit of proper techno for good measure.
